
Casting is a process of metal smelting and processing, usually using the gravity of the metal to cast in a mold. But "aluminum die-casting" is not done by gravity, but a certain amount of pressure is applied. Somewhat similar to "injection molding". But it has a set of high-tech core-pulling and cooling systems. Generally speaking, the material is sent to the cavity to be cast and "injected" through a centralized entrance to form the part.
Aluminum suitable for die casting process is die-cast aluminum, usually die-cast aluminum alloy.
Feature
High-pressure and high-speed filling of die-cast aluminum molds are the two major characteristics of die-cast aluminum. Its commonly used injection pressure is from several thousand to several tens of thousands kPa, even as high as 2×105kPa. The filling speed is about 10~50m/s, sometimes even more than 100m/s. The filling time is very short, generally in the range of 0.01~0.2s.
Advantage
1. Good product quality: castings have high dimensional accuracy, generally equivalent to 6~7, or even up to 4; good surface finish, generally equivalent to 5~8; strength and hardness are higher, and the strength is generally 25 higher than sand casting ~30%, but the elongation is reduced by about 70%; the size is stable, and the interchangeability is good; it can die-cast aluminum thin-walled complex castings. For example, the current minimum wall thickness of zinc alloy die-cast aluminum parts can reach 0.3mm; aluminum alloy castings can reach 0.5mm; the minimum casting hole diameter is 0.7mm; and the minimum thread pitch is 0.75mm.
2. High production efficiency: high productivity of the machine; long life of die-cast aluminum mold, one pair of die-cast aluminum mold, die-cast aluminum clock alloy, life can reach hundreds of thousands of times, even millions of times; easy to achieve mechanization and automation.
3. Excellent economic effect: due to the precise size of die-cast aluminum parts, the surface is smooth and clean. Generally, it is directly used without mechanical processing, or the processing volume is small, so it not only improves the metal utilization rate, but also reduces a large amount of processing equipment and man-hours;
